Originally built in 1890, this East Lawrence home has been carefully reworked to balance historic character with modern comfort. The original gabled structure remains at the heart of the design, creating a sense of warmth and authenticity from the moment you arrive.

The interior has been fully reimagined to create an efficient, intuitive layout with no wasted space. Natural light shapes each room, with carefully placed windows framing views and creating a calm, connected environment.

A reverence for materiality is evident throughout—preserved wood floors, exposed ceiling details, and natural stone are paired with clean, modern finishes. Original materials have been repurposed into custom millwork, adding depth and continuity between past and present.

Beyond aesthetics, this was a comprehensive, design-driven reconstruction. Major systems, structural elements, and site infrastructure have all been rebuilt or replaced, including new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roof, insulation, and foundation work.

The exterior introduces a modern architectural expression through a Shou Sugi Ban rainscreen system and high-performance insulated windows, significantly improving energy efficiency and durability.
